The Edward H. Arnold Center for Confluent Media studies was established in 1996 by way of a $1 million gift from Mr. Edward H. Arnold, a prominent leader in the field of electronic technology. The Arnold Center provides a high-tech collaborative environment which attracts faculty and students from various backgrounds and encourages them to get involved in interdisciplinary media and digital content creation projects. It is a unique facility funded by a leading entrepreneur who has founded numerous corporations.
The creation of this center is based on the belief that the application of new media in collaborative efforts among the Engineering, Music, Architecture, Communications and even Medical students and faculty members is an essential educational and political tool to train a new generation of young scholars who are able to produce content that is fair, engaging and effective in triggering change either on individual or social level.
