Lydia M. Lopez Chelala
Prior to her appointment at the University of Miami, Lydia had studied four years in the area of Computer Science in Cuba. Her work has been related to web programming and design since she began her major. She specializes in Database development in a LAMP environment. Lydia began working in the Arnold Lab in December of 2007, and has been involved in the development of the College of Engineering web portal. She spends most of her time studying or doing research. At present, Lydia is a student at the University of Miami, and her plan is to enroll in the Master’s Program in Computer Science beginning Fall 2009.
Gopal Balakrishnan
Gopal is a second-year Audio Engineering student interested in musical electronics relating to the guitar and bass, as well as recording technology. He is from a close suburb of Chicago, called Oak Park, where he attended Oak Park & River Forest High School, graduating in 2006. Gopal hopes to find his career as a professional musician or working for a company that manufactures guitars and guitar amplifiers. His long run goal is to start a boutique guitar amplifier company.
Heather Miller
Heather is a transfer student from the Cooper Union For The Advancement of Science And Art in New York City, transferring to Audio Engineering from the Fine Arts. She began working in the Arnold Lab in the summer of 2007, adding her Fine Arts background to the mix through graphic and web design. Heather hopes to graduate from the University of Miami and to attend graduate school either for the study of Acoustics or for more Fine Arts.
Caitlin Augustin
Caitlin is a junior majoring in mechanical engineering with a sustainable energy concentration and an environmental engineering minor. She is also the co-founder of the student chapter of Engineers Without Borders, and the current president. She is also an athlete on the rowing team, and the president of our Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
